Ida Mannine

Ida Mannine was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 2018. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, she is the office manager for Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, Inc. Ida is a former NRCSD PTA President and board member. For many years, she worked at the St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish Religious Education office. She has played important roles in the NR Mirant Debt Committee, Central Hudson Region PTA, and was honored in 2018 by the Mid-Hudson School Study Council Community Service Award. Ida currently resides in Thiells with her husband and children - who are both graduates of the North Rockland Central School District.

Debbie Gatti

Debbie Gatti was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 2005. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, she is an administrative assistant at Robert A. Lenahan Architects. Debbie previously worked for 13 years as Village Clerk for the Village of Haverstraw, is a former President of the Rockland County School Boards Association, former President of the Haverstraw-Stony Point School Board of Education, and Haverstraw-Stony Point PTA Council President. Presently she serves as a prominent member of the Rockland BOCES Board and the Rockland County School Boards Association. Debbie and all her children are graduates of the North Rockland Central School District.

Mary Romano

Mary Romano was first elected to the North  Rockland Board in 2009. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, she works for Northwell Healthcare arranging vaccine appointments. Mary worked for New York Telephone (now Verizon) before pursuing her passion and care for her local community by joining the Stony Point Center’s team, where she worked for over 14 years. Mary has always been very involved in NR, serving on the St. Greg’s Cornerstone Committee and as a Cub Scout Leader for many years. She has resided in Stony Point for 36 years and all four of her children are graduates of the North Rockland Central School District. Before joining the BOE, she was active on the District’s PTA, serving as president and on the council for many years. She currently serves on numerous BOE committees such as audit and facilities.

James Kraus

James Kraus was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 2008.  Prior to serving on our Board of Education, James worked as a lawyer representing seniors and farm workers before pursuing his passion for teaching at Lehman College, CUNY, where he taught for 35 years. He also served as a pre-law adviser, helping students prepare for and apply to law schools. James has lived in Stony Point for almost 50 years and his family has resided here for 100 years. He works with local environmental preservation groups to protect parks and the riverfront, ensuring our kids have access to great places to explore. Before joining the BOE, he was active on SIPT (School Improvement Planning Team) and other school activities, which he still encourages.

Peggy Zugibe

Peggy Zugibe was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 1993. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, Peggy - a former special education teacher - also serves as Board of Education President for Rockland BOCES, Treasurer of the Rockland County School Boards Association, the Area 10 Director, President of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA), and the Mid-Hudson School Study Council. Peggy and all her children are graduates of the North Rockland Central School District.

Richard Fernandez

Richard Fernandez was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 2013. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, Rich - a retired New York City Police Sergeant of 24 years - also serves on the BRIDGES of Rockland Board of Trustees and is a member of the Rockland County Hispanic Law Enforcement Organization, the Rockland Road Runners, the North Rockland Community Day Race Committee and other various charitable events committees.

Robert Masiello

Robert Masiello was first elected to the North Rockland Board in 2007. In addition to serving on our Board of Education, he previously worked for 35 years at Helen Hayes as a designer for rehabilitation and research departments before retiring in 2010. Bobby serves on the Board of Fire Commissioners for the Thiells Roseville Fire District, as a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish, Knights of Columbus, Italian American Social Club, Rockland County Historical Society Preservation Committee and is a Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Police Auxiliary Officer and New York State Peace Officer. He also currently serves as a Commissioner of the Haverstraw Water Recovery Facility. Robert is a lifelong resident of Haverstraw and he and his three sons are graduates of the North Rockland Central School District.
