Fourth Graders Dive Into Swim Safety Lessons

This school year, fourth graders across the district are taking part in a new Instructional Swim and Water Safety Program, giving them the opportunity to learn essential swimming and water safety skills as part of their school experience. Led by North Rockland High School Physical Education teachers Brain Brezosky and Arthur Cassidy, students are receiving five instructional swim lessons covering pool safety, submersion, survival floating and foundational swim techniques. Staff members and high school student workers through our Student Employment Program are also supporting students both in and out of the water, providing encouragement and guidance as they build confidence in the pool. It’s a valuable opportunity to develop skills that can help students stay safe in and around the water.
