James M. is our male Raider of the Week

James is a senior captain on the varsity boys cross country team. For their first race of the season at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area for the Red Raider Run, James placed third in the three mile run with a time of 16:39.10. He later went on to win his first ever race of his running career at the Suffern Invitation with a time of 16:30.50. He went on to help lead the team to an overall first place team finish! Coach Lent said, “James has been an excellent role model for this team and I look forward to seeing him continue to excel this season.”

Amelia A. T. is our female Raider of the Week

Amelia is a junior on the JV girls tennis team. She is known as someone who always gives pointers on and off the court. She is recognized by her teammates as a positive team player. Last year, it was her first time ever playing tennis, but because of all the hard work she put in the off season, she is now a starting singles player. She played second singles against Clarkstown North and won 6-5 in the tiebreaker. She also played second singles against Nanuet and won her match 6-4. In addition to her many wins, she has volunteered her time after practice for the clinics held at North Rockland by the Rockland Community Tennis Association for our younger Red Raiders. Coach Swituszak said, “Her hard work has most definitely paid off and I am so extremely proud of her! You can tell that she cares so much about the game and is always looking to get better.”
