Lila W. is our first female Raider of the Week

Lila is a junior on the varsity field hockey team. Lila has been a dominant force this season. During their first game of the season against Nanuet, she got the game winning goal in the fourth quarter to lead the Raiders to victory with a final score of 2-1. She kept up the same momentum where she contributed two goals to their 7-0 win against Valhalla and the game winning goal against Walter Panas with a final score of 1-0. This is her second year on the varsity team. Coach Fox said, “Lila is a force to be reckoned with! She excels all over the field whether it’s her stick work, transitions, or her ability to score off a corner. She is a great athlete and teammate.”

Zaire C. is our first male Raider of the Week

Zaire is a senior on the varsity football team. As the starting quarterback, number three has helped lead the Red Raiders to a 3-0 start, as North Rockland has outscored its opponents 113-7 through the first three games. He has completed 10 of 13 passes for 184 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also making an impact with his legs, carrying the ball 5 times for 49 yards and a touchdown. Through just the first three games of the season, Zaire has completed 27 of 37 passes for 572 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the ground, he has added 121 rushing yards on 12 carries with another touchdown. He is currently ranked 10th in New York State with 572 passing yards. He has also won lohud’s Player of the Week and is part of the Leadership Council for the team. Coach Hickey said, “Zaire’s impact goes far beyond the stat sheet. He is a vocal leader, relentless competitor, and tremendous representative of the North Rockland Football program. He leaves everything he has on the field, leads his teammates by example, and represents our program with pride and character both on and off the football field.”
