Introducing Our New North Rockland Athletics JV Coaching Staff

Patrick McAvoy - JV Boys Soccer
Entering his third year in the district and ninth year coaching soccer, Coach McAvoy works in credit recovery at North Rockland High School and brings extensive experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He was a three-year varsity starting goalkeeper at Albertus Magnus High School before playing Division III soccer for one year at Lasell University. He began his coaching career at Albertus, serving as the varsity goalkeeper coach and first assistant before joining North Rockland. In 2022, he joined the coaching staff at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he has coached Division II soccer for the past five seasons. At North Rockland, he is excited for the opportunity to help grow the program alongside talented student-athletes who are committed to succeeding both on and off the field. His goals this season are to finish above .500 and qualify for the county tournament. For Coach McAvoy, the best part of being a Red Raider is seeing the opportunities North Rockland provides student-athletes through its facilities, programs and academics, while creating an environment where they feel supported and empowered to succeed.
Brianna Williams - JV Girls Soccer
Entering her fourth year in the district and her first year coaching soccer, Coach Williams works as a social worker at North Rockland. A former Red Raider herself, she played varsity soccer at North Rockland for all four years before continuing her career at the Division I level at Central Connecticut State University. She has also worked as a trainer with NRSA. Coaching at North Rockland is especially meaningful to her, as the program helped shape her confidence, resilience and identity while giving her lifelong friendships and the opportunity to play at the collegiate level. This season, she hopes to develop each player’s skills and confidence while creating a winning culture that challenges the team to reach its full potential both on and off the field. For Coach Williams, being a Red Raider means having the opportunity to give back to the program and the people who helped shape who she is today. Now, she gets to work alongside many of the people who played an important role in her own journey and give back to the program she once called home.
