Meet the Board: Mary Romano

This week, we’re excited to highlight Trustee Mary Romano, a dedicated member of the North Rockland Central School District Board of Education. With sixteen years of dedicated service, Mary’s commitment to enhancing education and supporting the community shines through in all she does. Here’s a closer look at what drives her to serve:

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱?

‘I ran for the school board because I am passionate about improving our schools and ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education. I believe that strong schools build strong communities, and I want to be a voice for parents, teachers, and students in making decisions that positively impact our district.’

‘I have had the honor of serving on the North Rockland Board of Education for 16 years, and one of my greatest joys is attending student performances. It’s incredible to see the growth and progress of our students from year to year. Whether it’s a concert, play, or coffee house these events highlight their hard work, talent, and dedication, and I am always proud to support and celebrate their achievements.’

‘My proudest personal achievement is my family. Watching my children grow into kind, hardworking, and successful individuals has been the greatest joy of my life. My husband and I are incredibly proud of all that they have accomplished, not just in their careers and education but also in the values they uphold and the way they treat others. Seeing them navigate life with integrity, resilience, and compassion reminds me that the love and lessons we instill as parents truly make a difference.’
